Popover

Keyboard

Activate the Trigger to open the popover and press Tab to move through its controls. Escape closes it and returns focus to the Trigger. Do not put interactive controls in HoverCard.

Semantics

Give the trigger button an accessible name. Make any information in HoverCard available to keyboard users too.

Checklist

• Name the Trigger and PopoverContent so the opening action and popup content are clear.
• Make inputs and buttons inside reachable with the keyboard, and return focus to the Trigger when the popover closes.
• Check for clipped content or actions when the popover opens to the side or on a narrow screen.
• Keep HoverCard read-only and use it for additional information. Make important information available without hovering.
