Keyboard

Press Enter to start editing. In single mode, Enter commits the edit. In multi mode, Enter adds a line break and Ctrl/Command+Enter commits. Escape cancels.

Semantics

Use editLabel, cancelLabel and clearLabel to name the edit, cancel and clear actions. Link validation errors to the editor.

Checklist

• Identify the editable item in display mode and make it possible to start editing with the keyboard.
• Check save, cancel and line-break behavior in single and multi modes, and where focus goes after editing.
• Explain errors in text and keep the entered value if saving fails.
